Keep in mind, this is basically a replacement for bouillon cubes, but with a lobster flavor instead of beef or chicken. It packs an intense flavor and, yes, does have a lot of sodium (but not as much as a dried bouillon cube). For most recipes, this means easing up on any additional salt.

For chicken bouillon (or vegetable or beef), I now use this product. "Better than Bouillon" is much richer and has a far more textured and better taste.
Something like this is often called for in recipes. This is so much preferable to the cubes or powder that I would recommend to anyone using those to give it up. There is no comparison.

This company seems to put more REAL flavor and less salt in their bases. Maybe that's why it's more expensive, but to me it's worth it. The mushroom base is the first one that caught my attention. It's delicious. Then I tried the lobster, etc. This item has been a staple in my pantry for at least two years. As a vegatarian, I find that many foods lack flavor.
